About this pattern
The coat is pieced in a mosaic of cream, wheat, honey and caramel, with soft grey and taupe shading across the brow, muzzle and floppy ears - the look of so many much-loved rescue and shelter dogs. Behind the dog, a blazing orange sun rises over layered blue mountains, its rays fanning across a golden sky, while a bright blue lake, rolling green hills, tall dark pines and leafy foreground plants complete the mountain scene. The whole picture is framed in a bold red and pine-green border with golden corner blocks, giving the finished quilt the cosy warmth of a cabin morning.

About how this was made: The initial design idea was developed with the help of AI tools. I then drew each design by hand as an original vector illustration in Adobe Illustrator and built the pattern myself: the templates, colour placement and sewing instructions.
